The address register is a national register of addresses and contains information about street names, house numbers, postal codes and coordinates, which makes it possible to obtain the precise geographical location of addresses.

About basemap

The screen map is a multi-scalable map that has been developed to be able to display relevant data at different zoom levels on a screen. The map is built from Asiaq’s map data for the cities and Greenlandic topograhic vector data for other areas. The map has a simple and subdued expression and is designed to be used primarily as a background map for other data in various web applications.

District zoning

About District zoning

The district zoning set the direction for the municipality’s physical development.
The district zoningsare aimed at anyone who wants to know more about the municipality’s vision for future planning or about the municipality’s framework, plans and regulations for land use and development.

The data layer is a collection of the municipal zoning plans that have been published through the individual municipalities’ zoning portals.

Orthophotos of Settlements

About orthophotos of settlements

Orthophoto is a photo of composite aerial photos that have been photographed with overlap, which have been geometrically corrected and straightened so that they have the same size ratio throughout the image. This ensures a uniform dimension (scale) and that variations in height in the landscape do not cause distortions in the image.

Orthophoto can therefore be used in conjunction with other map products and geographic data.

The place names register contains approximately 33,000 place names throughout Greenland with defined area boundaries. These are authorized for official use by the Greenland Place Names Board, which is established by law of the Inatsisartut.

Protected areas contain geographical areas and attribute information for the scientific assessment of activities regulated by the Greenland Minerals Act and the rules for fieldwork and reporting regarding mineral resources in Greenland. Technical Base Map

About Technical base map

The technical base map is the official technical maps of the Greenlandic towns and settlements. It is a technical-topographic vector map in 3D that reflects/describes the physical objects on the terrain, as well as buildings B and House numbers.

The map covers all the Greenlandic towns and settlements and is made on the basis of orthophotos and classical surveying. The framework for the technical base map is well-defined and has clear quality assurance in relation to the established specification. This ensures a uniform registration and mapping for all locations.

Water supply

About water supply

The water catchment is the area from which surface water naturally flows down to the water intake of the residence.

Exclusion zones are set by the Government of Greenland to protect the water quality for the water supply of the residences. There are a number of restrictions on which activities may take place within the exclusion zone, cf. the Greenland Environmental Protection Act.
